Our Story
Durga Engineering Works began its journey in 1976 as a small 200 sq. ft. workshop, built by Mr. Dinesh Narayan Kurlawala and Mr. Narayan Pachabhai Kurlawala. What started with limited space and resources was driven by strong values — hard work, precision, and a commitment to doing every job right.
Growth in the early years came steadily, built on trust and consistent delivery rather than scale.
Growing with Industry
As industrial demand increased, so did the company’s capabilities.
In 1987, a second unit was established in Vasai, expanding operations and capacity. By 1996, a larger facility in Kurla marked a significant step forward, allowing the company to take on more complex and heavy engineering work. With this shift, earlier units were consolidated to improve efficiency and focus.
Stepping into Scale
In 2007, the company expanded further by acquiring additional space next to the Kurla workshop. This phase saw the installation of one of the largest vertical turning lathes in its segment, enabling the handling of much larger and heavier components.
This was a turning point — not just in size, but in capability.
Engineering at a Higher Level
In 2015, Durga Engineering Works collaborated with L&T Special Steels and Heavy Forgings in Hazira, Surat. This association involved working with one of India’s largest private sector vertical turning lathes, capable of handling extremely large components.
This phase reinforced the company’s ability to operate at a much higher level of industrial engineering.
